Information on the RapperEdit
Ben Haggerty, better known by his stage name, Macklemore, is an American rapper and musician. He began independently releasing music in 2000 and now collaborates with producer Ryan Lewis, violinist Andrew Joslyn, and trumpeter Owuor Arunga. He has gained a significant online fanbase. He has released one mixtape, three EPs and two albums, although none on a major record label. His single "Thrift Shop" has been viewed on YouTube over 300 million times, and reached number 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2013, selling more than 2.2 million copies. It was the first time since 1994 that a song reached number 1 on the Hot 100 chart without the support of a major record label. His second single, "Can't Hold Us" also peaked at #1 of the Hot 100 Chart, making Macklemore & Ryan Lewis the first duo in the chart's history to have their first two singles both become a #1 single.
Verse 1:EditThis battle will leave you crying, like that guy, you know, Stan?
I mean, you should've been imprisoned, you killed your #1 fan.
You can't spell your own name, that's why the E's backwards.
And my recognition grew faster than your dick, you bastard.
You got beaten by your papa, that's what your songs are about.
You should try to make something original, other than anger and pout.
Say "I'm Not Afraid" one more time, I know you're wrong.
Shit, it was 99 cents, and still nobody bought your songs.
I'll steal your grandpa style, and walk away smiling,
Now I'm Gone, I don't wanna see you cryin'.
Show me the Proof that you even had a friend.
Your mother almost died when giving birth, I wouldn't blame her,
And she even tried to sue you, Mother of the Year right ther'.
The only thing this faggot can do is get dehomed.
There's only so many ways I could say you got owned.
